Exhumed & Savage Master in Chicago

Exhumed is an American deathgrind band formed in San Jose in 1990 by guitarist and vocalist Matt Harvey. Their music draws on death metal and grindcore, and key releases include Gore Metal, Slaughtercult and Anatomy Is Destiny. “The Matter of Splatter” became one of their best-known songs. Exhumed returned from a hiatus to perform at Maryland Deathfest in 2011, the first show by the re-formed band. They then toured behind All Guts, No Glory and resumed international club and festival appearances, including performances at Obscene Extreme in the Czech Republic and Party.San Metal Open Air in Germany. Their full-band concerts have used theatrical gore routines involving mock surgery and a chainsaw. These scenes have featured the masked character Dr. Philthy.

Savage Master is an American band formed in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2013. The group plays traditional heavy metal with speed-metal accents and is fronted by vocalist Stacey Savage. Its best-known releases include Mask of the Devil, With Whips and Chains, Myth, Magic and Steel and Those Who Hunt at Night. Savage Master have toured clubs in the United States and appeared at traditional-metal festivals in Europe. The band has performed at Keep It True in Germany and Hell’s Heroes in Houston. The concert format is a full electric-band set built around the group’s executioner imagery: the musicians perform in black hoods behind vocalist Stacey Savage.
