About Extreme
Extreme are an American hard-rock band formed in Boston in 1985, led by vocalist Gary Cherone and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Their album Extreme II: Pornograffitti established their mix of hard rock and funk metal through songs including “More Than Words,” “Hole Hearted” and “Get the Funk Out.”
In 1992, Extreme performed a medley of Queen songs at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium. Their 2009 performance at the House of Blues was released as the concert film and live album Take Us Alive, and the 2023 Thicker Than Blood Tour paired them with Living Colour.
