About Fehlfarben
Fehlfarben are a German post-punk band formed in Düsseldorf in 1979 by musicians from the city’s punk scene. Their debut album, Monarchie und Alltag, paired sharp guitar and keyboard parts with German-language lyrics; it includes their best-known songs, “Ein Jahr (Es geht voran)” and “Paul ist tot.”
The concert run following the debut exposed the band’s difficult relationship with sustained touring, and singer Peter Hein left soon afterward. He returned when Fehlfarben reconvened to record Knietief im Dispo in 2002, after which the band again performed in German clubs and at festivals with Peter Hein as frontman.
