About Finntroll
Finntroll is a Finnish folk-metal band formed in 1997 by vocalist Jan “Katla” Jämsen and guitarist Teemu “Somnium” Raimoranta. The band plays folk metal shaped by black-metal vocals and guitar work, plus the dance rhythms of Finnish humppa; most of its lyrics are in Swedish. Its best-known recordings include the albums Jaktens tid and Nattfödd, and the song “Trollhammaren.”
A 2008 concert at Melkweg in Amsterdam was recorded and later issued as the live album Natten med de levande Finntroll. In 2017, the band undertook a European tour marking its twentieth anniversary.
Finntroll performed at Tuska in Helsinki and at Hellfest in Clisson.
