About Fish
Fish is a Scottish singer-songwriter, born Derek Dick in 1958, who fronted Marillion during the 1980s before beginning a solo career. His voice and lyrics shaped albums including Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws, while “Kayleigh” and “Lavender” became signature songs. His solo catalogue began with Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors and later included Weltschmerz.
In 1990, Fish toured behind his solo debut, establishing a full-band show that drew on both his new work and his Marillion years. The Return to Childhood tour revisited Misplaced Childhood in full in 2005, and Farewell to Childhood returned to the album a decade later. His farewell Road to the Isles tour ended in 2025 at O2 Academy Glasgow.
