Flight of the Conchords in Auckland

Flight of the Conchords are a New Zealand musical-comedy duo formed in Wellington in 1998 by Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Their acoustic folk, comedy rock and hip-hop pastiches became known through songs including “Business Time,” “The Most Beautiful Girl (In the Room)” and “Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros,” as well as their self-titled HBO series and albums Flight of the Conchords and I Told You I Was Freaky. The duo took their early stage act to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, earning a Perrier Award nomination in 2003, and appeared on HBO’s One Night Stand in 2005. They returned to live performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 2016 and followed it with a US tour. The Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour included performances at Eventim Apollo in 2018, filmed for the special Live in London. Their shows center on Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement singing, playing guitars, bass and keyboards, and delivering spoken exchanges between songs. They played Wembley Arena during their 2010 tour and later performed at the Hollywood Bowl on the same run.
