Formula 3 in Padua

Formula 3 is an Italian rock trio formed in 1969 by Alberto Radius, Gabriele Lorenzi and Tony Cicco. Closely associated with songwriter Lucio Battisti and lyricist Mogol, the group recorded songs including “Questo folle sentimento” and “Eppur mi son scordato di te,” while albums such as Dies Irae and Sognando e risognando moved its sound toward progressive rock. Formula 3 backed Lucio Battisti during his 1969 summer tour, part of the singer-songwriter’s limited concert history. The trio performed “La folle corsa” at the 1971 Sanremo Music Festival in partnership with Little Tony, then disbanded in 1974 and reunited in 1990. Two years after reforming, the group presented “Un frammento rosa” at the Teatro Ariston.
