Freddie McGregor is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter, born in Clarendon in 1956. He began recording as a child at Studio One and sang with The Clarendonians before building a solo catalogue that ranges across roots reggae and lovers rock. His best-known recordings include “Big Ship,” “Push Comes to Shove” and “Just Don’t Want to Be Lonely,” while Bobby Bobylon and Big Ship are central albums in his career.

Freddie McGregor performed at Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica in 1982, and a later London concert was released as Live at the Town and Country Club. He subsequently performed at European reggae festivals including Summerjam in Germany and Rototom Sunsplash in Spain.
