About Fruit Bats
Fruit Bats are an American indie-folk and rock band formed in Chicago in 1997 by singer-songwriter Eric D. Johnson. The band is known for albums including Mouthfuls, Spelled in Bones and The Ruminant Band, as well as songs such as “When U Love Somebody” and “Humbug Mountain Song.”
Fruit Bats ended their initial run with an announced farewell concert at Lincoln Hall in Chicago in 2013. Johnson revived the band in 2015, returning it to club and theatre tours; later festival appearances included Pickathon in Oregon and the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.
