Artists
Fruit Bats are an American indie-folk and rock band formed in Chicago in 1997 by singer-songwriter Eric D. Johnson. The band is known for albums including Mouthfuls, Spelled in Bones and The Ruminant Band, as well as songs such as “When U Love Somebody” and “Humbug Mountain Song.” Fruit Bats ended their initial run with an announced farewell concert at Lincoln Hall in Chicago in 2013. Johnson revived the band in 2015, returning it to club and theatre tours; later festival appearances included Pickathon in Oregon and the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.
Matthew Logan Vasquez is an American singer-songwriter and the lead singer of indie-rock band Delta Spirit. He is also a member of Middle Brother, the group formed with John McCauley and Taylor Goldsmith. His solo catalog includes the albums The Solicitor Returns, Does What He Wants and Light’n Up, rooted in folk rock, Americana and direct, guitar-led songwriting. As Delta Spirit’s frontman, Matthew Logan Vasquez spent years touring clubs, theatres and festivals, including Coachella and Austin City Limits Music Festival. He later played dates under his own name, appearing both solo and with a backing band, and in 2019 he joined McCauley and Goldsmith for a Middle Brother reunion at Newport Folk Festival.
