Gaelic Storm is an American Celtic band formed in Santa Monica in 1996. The group plays Irish folk and Celtic rock and became widely known as the steerage-class dance band in the film Titanic. Its catalogue includes the albums Herding Cats and Bring Yer Wellies and songs such as “Scalliwag,” “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” and “What’s the Rumpus?” Before filming Titanic, Gaelic Storm developed its repertoire through pub performances in California. After the film, the group toured extensively across North America, performing its material as a full band built around fiddle, bagpipes, guitar, percussion and shared vocals. That format has appeared at Milwaukee Irish Fest and the Dublin Irish Festival in Ohio.
