Gesaffelstein is the stage name of French electronic musician and producer Mike Lévy, born in Lyon in 1985. He makes dark techno and electro shaped by industrial and new-wave sounds. The album Aleph and tracks including “Pursuit” and “Hate or Glory” established his solo catalogue; he later released Hyperion and recorded “Lost in the Fire” with The Weeknd.

Gesaffelstein performed at Coachella in 2015 in a set billed as his last live show, then returned to the festival in 2019. The 2019 production placed him before a black monolith in a metallic mask, a visual design carried into the Requiem Tour.
