Girl In a Coma in Chicago

Girl In a Coma is an American alternative-rock and punk trio formed in San Antonio in 2001 by sisters Nina and Phanie Diaz and bassist Jenn Alva. Signed to Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records, the band became known through the album Both Before I’m Gone, the song “Clumsy Sky,” and later records including Trio B.C. and Exits & All the Rest. In 2007, the trio opened for Morrissey on tour, then built further road experience on tours with Tegan and Sara, the Pogues and Social Distortion. These appearances placed their full-band sets in clubs and theatres beyond their Texas base. Festival appearances have included South by Southwest in Austin and the Vans Warped Tour.
