Googoosh is an Iranian singer and actor, born in Tehran in 1950, whose work spans Persian pop music and cinema. She began performing as a child and became known for songs including “Man Amadeam,” “Talagh,” “Panjereha” and “Gharibe Ashena,” as well as films such as Bita and Dar Emtedad-e Shab.

In 2000, Googoosh returned to the concert stage at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre after being barred from public performance in Iran following the 1979 revolution. She later toured with Ebi in the Nostalgia concert series, where both singers performed solo material and duets. Her subsequent appearances included the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
