About Grant Haua

Grant Haua is a New Zealand singer, songwriter and guitarist from Tauranga who plays blues rock and soul-rooted modern blues. He fronted the guitar-and-drums duo Swamp Thing with Michael Barker, while his solo recordings include the album Awa Blues.

Swamp Thing toured New Zealand and Australia, performing as a compact duo built around Grant Haua’s guitar and vocals and Michael Barker’s drums. Grant Haua later took his solo catalogue to European clubs and blues festivals, where sets drew on Awa Blues.
