Green Carnation is a Norwegian progressive metal band formed in Kristiansand in 1990 by guitarist Tchort. After beginning in death metal, the group developed a broader sound across albums including Journey to the End of the Night, A Blessing in Disguise and the acoustic-led The Acoustic Verses. Its best-known work is Light of Day, Day of Darkness, an album built as a single hour-long composition. In 2016, Green Carnation reunited for a concert at Kilden Performing Arts Centre in Kristiansand and performed Light of Day, Day of Darkness in full. The performance was filmed and later released under the title Last Day of Darkness.
