About Grinspoon
Grinspoon are an Australian alternative-rock band formed in Lismore in 1995 by Phil Jamieson, Pat Davern, Joe Hansen and Kristian Hopes. They were the inaugural winners of triple j’s Unearthed competition, submitting “Sickfest,” and became known for songs including “Just Ace,” “Chemical Heart” and “Lost Control.” Their albums include Guide to Better Living, New Detention and Thrills, Kills + Sunday Pills.
Grinspoon played repeated editions of Big Day Out during their initial run and announced a hiatus in 2013. They reunited for the 2017 Guide to Better Living 20th Anniversary Tour, followed it with the Chemical Hearts tour in 2019, and returned to the road in 2023 for the Easy Detention tour.
Their Australian headline runs have included the Enmore Theatre in Sydney and the Forum in Melbourne.
