Haken are a British progressive metal band formed in London in 2007. Their music combines long-form compositions, intricate rhythms and melodic vocals; the albums The Mountain, Affinity and Fauna, together with the song “Cockroach King,” are central to their catalogue. Haken marked their tenth anniversary in 2017 with a tour that included Visions performed in full, and their concert at the Melkweg in Amsterdam was filmed for the live release L-1VE. They joined Symphony X on a North American run in 2022, then returned the following year for the Fauna Expedition tour supported by Arch Echo.
Thank You Scientist is an American progressive-rock band formed in Montclair, New Jersey, in 2009. Its music draws on jazz fusion, metal and funk, using trumpet, saxophone and violin alongside a rock rhythm section. The band is known for the albums Maps of Non-Existent Places, Stranger Heads Prevail and Terraformer, as well as songs including “Mr. Invisible” and “FXMLDR.” In 2013, Thank You Scientist opened for Coheed and Cambria during the touring cycle for The Afterman, beginning a long association between the two bands. Later headline runs brought the group’s multi-instrumental arrangements to clubs and theatres across North America. The band also performed aboard Cruise to the Edge.
