About Hans Teeuwen
Hans Teeuwen is a Dutch comedian, cabaret performer and musician, born in Budel in 1967. He is known for absurdist, confrontational solo shows including Hard en Zielig, Trui and Dat dan weer wel, combining monologues, character pieces and songs.
In 1991, he and Roland Smeenk won the Cameretten festival as the duo Heist. After Smeenk’s death, Hans Teeuwen pursued a solo stage career in theatres across the Netherlands and Belgium. He later performed English-language material at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, a period also documented in Live in London. His subsequent Dutch theatre shows included Spiksplinter and Echte Rancune.
