Hildegard lernt fliegen is a Swiss experimental-jazz sextet formed in Bern in 2005 by vocalist and composer Andreas Schaerer. The group is known for theatrical compositions, extended vocal techniques and albums including 0816, Cinéma Hildegard and The Fundamental Rhythm of Unpolished Brains.

In 2014, the sextet won the BMW Welt Jazz Award after performing in the final at BMW Welt in Munich. The following year, it joined the Lucerne Festival Academy for the premiere of Schaerer's orchestral work The Big Wig at the Lucerne Festival.

The group performs as a six-piece ensemble, using voice, reeds, trombone, double bass and drums. Beatboxing, scat singing and other extended techniques place the voice of Andreas Schaerer at the centre of the arrangement.
