About Hiss Golden Messenger
Hiss Golden Messenger is an American folk-rock and alternative-country project formed in California by singer-songwriter M.C. Taylor and multi-instrumentalist Scott Hirsch, later becoming based in Durham, North Carolina. Led by Taylor, the project is known for albums including Bad Debt, Lateness of Dancers, Heart Like a Levee and Terms of Surrender, as well as songs such as “Saturday’s Song” and “Biloxi.”
In 2017, Hiss Golden Messenger supported Bon Iver on a run of North American dates and later performed at Newport Folk Festival. Tours behind Terms of Surrender, Quietly Blowing It and Jump for Joy brought a full band to clubs and theatres in the United States and Europe. The same catalog has also been presented in solo concerts by M.C. Taylor.
