Hoodoo Gurus in Brisbane

Hoodoo Gurus are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1981. Their guitar-driven power pop and garage rock became known through songs including “What’s My Scene,” “Like Wow-Wipeout!” and “Bittersweet,” as well as the albums Stoneage Romeos and Mars Needs Guitars!. The band completed a farewell tour in 1998, then re-formed in 2003 and resumed performing in Australia and overseas. In 2012, Hoodoo Gurus curated and headlined the Dig It Up! concert series, whose lineups included Blue Öyster Cult and The Flamin’ Groovies. The Enmore Theatre has hosted the band in a theatre setting. Their 40th-anniversary concert in Melbourne was staged outdoors at Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
