I Muvrini in Hem

I Muvrini are a Corsican group from France, founded by brothers Jean-François and Alain Bernardini. Their music centres on Corsican polyphonic singing, supported by folk, pop and world-music arrangements. Albums including Curagiu and Leia established their modern treatment of the island’s musical tradition, while “Terre d’Oru,” recorded with Sting, reworked his song “Fields of Gold” in Corsican and English. The 1996 live album I Muvrini à Bercy documents an arena concert in Paris and the group’s expansion beyond smaller folk venues. Olympia 2011 later captured their vocal ensemble and touring band in a theatre setting at the Olympia.
