Ibibio Sound Machine in Glasgow

Ibibio Sound Machine are a British band formed in London in 2013 and fronted by singer Eno Williams. They play Afrobeat, highlife, funk, disco and electronic music, while Williams sings in English and Ibibio. Their releases include the self-titled debut, Uyai, Doko Mien, Electricity and Pull the Rope. Ibibio Sound Machine performed a Tiny Desk concert for NPR, documenting the group’s live arrangement of horns, synthesizers, guitar, bass, drums and percussion. In 2022, they brought that full-band setup to the West Holts stage at Glastonbury Festival. Eno Williams leads the concerts on vocals and dance, supported by an ensemble built around interlocking percussion, brass parts and electronic keyboards. The group has also performed at Green Man in Wales and at WOMAD in Wiltshire.
