Ivy is a New York indie-pop trio formed in 1994 by multi-instrumentalists Andy Chase and Adam Schlesinger and French vocalist Dominique Durand. Their music draws on vintage French pop, and their catalog includes the albums Apartment Life, Long Distance and In the Clear. The band composed the score for Shallow Hal, while songs from Apartment Life appeared in There’s Something About Mary. In 1995, Edwyn Collins invited Ivy to open his North American tour after hearing the trio’s cover of a song by Orange Juice.
