Jah Wobble & The Invaders of the Heart in Stourbridge

Jah Wobble & The Invaders of the Heart is a British dub and world-music group led by bassist John Wardle, who adopted the name Jah Wobble and first became known as a founding member of Public Image Ltd. He established the Invaders of the Heart after leaving that band, making his heavy, spacious bass sound the centre of records including Rising Above Bedlam and Take Me to God. “Visions of You,” recorded with Sinéad O’Connor, is among the project’s best-known songs. An early incarnation of the group was documented in concert at Manchester’s Haçienda. Jah Wobble later revived the name with a new ensemble around Rising Above Bedlam, and the band carried that material onto touring and festival stages. Its festival history includes appearances at Glastonbury Festival and WOMAD.
