Jairo in Buenos Aires

Jairo is the stage name of Mario Rubén González, an Argentine singer-songwriter born in 1949 in Cruz del Eje. He sings folk, tango and pop, and has recorded in Spanish, French, Italian and German. His early work included the album Emociones, while “Javier y Paloma” won the Costa del Sol festival. France appointed him a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 1998. At the Olympia in Paris, Jairo first appeared as a supporting performer and later returned as a headliner. In 1995, he marked 25 years in music with concerts in Córdoba and Buenos Aires featuring Mercedes Sosa, Lito Vitale and Juan Carlos Baglietto.
