About Jakob
Jakob are an instrumental post-rock trio from Napier, New Zealand, formed in 1998. Guitarist Jeff Boyle, bassist Maurice Beckett and drummer Jason Johnston build expansive, atmospheric rock without a lead vocalist. Their catalogue includes the albums Subsets, Cale:Drew, Solace and Sines.
Jakob have supported Tool in New Zealand and toured Australia with Isis, bringing their long-form instrumental material to larger rock audiences. Their overseas performances have also included SXSW in Austin and Belgium’s Dunk!festival.
