UNKLE is a British electronic music project formed in 1992 by James Lavelle and Tim Goldsworthy. Its trip-hop, downtempo and alternative-rock catalogue is built around collaborations, beginning with the DJ Shadow-produced debut album Psyence Fiction. That record includes “Rabbit in Your Headlights” with Thom Yorke and “Lonely Soul” with Richard Ashcroft. In 2007, UNKLE took War Stories on the road with a live band, establishing a concert format for music previously associated mainly with studio collaborations and DJ culture. In 2014, Lavelle presented UNKLE: Redux during the Meltdown festival he curated, performing material from across the catalogue with the Heritage Orchestra and guest vocalists at the Royal Festival Hall.
