Blockhead & Arms and Sleepers in Prague

Blockhead is an American producer from New York whose sample-rich instrumental hip-hop draws on downtempo, electronic music and jazz. He produced much of Aesop Rock’s early catalog, including “Daylight,” and established his solo work through albums such as Music by Cavelight and The Music Scene, released by Ninja Tune. Blockhead performs his solo catalog in electronic sets centered on layered beats and samples, and he has taken that format to clubs and festivals on international tours. He has also toured with producer Eliot Lipp; at their joint shows, the pair perform as Lipphead, the project behind In the Nude.

Arms and Sleepers is an American electronic project formed in Boston in 2006 by Mirza Ramic and Max Lewis. Its music draws on downtempo electronica, ambient sound, trip-hop rhythms and post-rock, and the project is known for albums including Black Paris 86, Matador, The Organ Hearts and Swim Team. Arms and Sleepers toured behind Black Paris 86 and Matador in clubs across North America and Europe, and appeared at SXSW in Austin and the CMJ Music Marathon in New York. Later live sets centered on Mirza Ramic as the project’s onstage performer.
