Jaromir Nohavica in Pilsen

Jaromir Nohavica is a Czech singer-songwriter, born in Ostrava in 1953, whose music draws on folk, chanson and rock. He is known for songs including “Kometa,” “Těšínská” and “Mikymauz,” as well as albums such as Mikymauzoleum and Divné století. The 1998 live album Koncert documented his solo concert format, singing while accompanying himself on guitar or accordion. Ikarus was recorded during a series of performances in Ostrava in 2008, and the 2009 live album and DVD V Lucerně preserved his concert at Prague’s Lucerna.
