Jeanne Cherhal in Montlouis-sur-Loire

Jeanne Cherhal is a French singer-songwriter and pianist, born in Nantes in 1978. Her songs place detailed, often sharply observed lyrics within contemporary chanson and pop; her best-known records include Douze fois par an, L’Eau, Histoire de J. and L’An 40. Her self-titled 2002 debut was recorded live and captured her early piano-and-voice performance style. The later concert film Jeanne Cherhal à la Cigale documented her work on a Paris concert-hall stage at La Cigale.
