About Jerry Cantrell
Jerry Cantrell is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, born in Tacoma, Washington, in 1966 and best known as a co-founder of Alice in Chains. He wrote or co-wrote songs including “Rooster,” “Would?” and “Them Bones,” while his solo catalogue includes Boggy Depot, Degradation Trip and Brighten.
Alice in Chains opened for Van Halen on the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour before headlining Lollapalooza in 1993. Jerry Cantrell also performed with the band for MTV Unplugged at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 1996, then toured his solo work behind Degradation Trip and returned to the road with Brighten in 2022.
In 2022 he played Download Festival at Donington Park and Hellfest in Clisson.
