About Jimmy Barnes

Jimmy Barnes is a Scottish-born Australian rock and soul singer, born in Glasgow in 1956 and raised in Adelaide. He first became known as the lead singer of Cold Chisel, then established a solo career through albums including For the Working Class Man and Soul Deep. His signature songs include “Working Class Man,” “No Second Prize” and “When Something Is Wrong with My Baby.”

The 1986 Australian Made tour placed him on a nationwide concert bill with INXS, Divinyls and other Australian groups. Barnestorming subsequently documented his late-1980s full-band stage set, while the Flesh and Wood concerts presented his songs in an acoustic setting. He returned to venues around Australia for the 2019 Shutting Down Your Town tour.
