Jimmy Eat World is an American alternative-rock band formed in Mesa, Arizona, in 1993. Their guitar-driven mix of emo, power pop and pop punk is best known through the album Bleed American and the songs “The Middle” and “Sweetness”; the follow-up Futures added “Pain” and “Work” to their catalogue. On the 2002 Pop Disaster Tour, Jimmy Eat World opened North American amphitheatre dates for Blink-182 and Green Day. The band marked the tenth anniversary of Clarity with the 2009 Clarity x 10 tour, performing the album in full, and later co-headlined The Amplified Echoes Tour with Manchester Orchestra in 2023.
The Format is an American indie-pop and rock band formed in Peoria, Arizona, in 2002 by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. The group is known for the albums Interventions + Lullabies and Dog Problems, as well as songs including “The First Single (You Know Me),” “The Compromise” and “She Doesn't Get It.” The Format toured behind both studio albums in clubs and theatres across the United States. In 2007, a Los Angeles performance from the Dog Problems era was filmed and released as Live at the Mayan Theatre.
