Jam & Lewis in Bensalem

Jam & Lewis are the American songwriting and production duo of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, whose partnership began in the Minneapolis band Flyte Tyme before both joined The Time. They are known for shaping Janet Jackson albums including Control and Rhythm Nation 1814, and for producing songs such as the Human League’s “Human” and the S.O.S. Band’s “Just Be Good to Me.” Their first album as recording artists, Jam & Lewis, Volume One, followed in 2021. In 1982 and 1983, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis toured as members of The Time on Prince’s 1999 Tour, playing keyboards and bass respectively. They returned to those roles for a 2021 NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, presenting songs from their own album alongside work associated with Janet Jackson, the Human League and Sounds of Blackness.
