Joel Plaskett in Peterborough

Joel Plaskett is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, in 1975. He first became known through the Halifax rock band Thrush Hermit, then built a solo catalogue and formed the Joel Plaskett Emergency. His best-known recordings include the albums Truthfully Truthfully, Ashtray Rock and Three, and the songs “Nowhere with You,” “Come On, Teacher” and “Through & Through & Through.” Joel Plaskett has toured with the Joel Plaskett Emergency since the early 2000s while also performing solo. The concert album Live at the Rebecca Cohn documents his work at Halifax’s Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, and his other tours have placed him in Canadian theatres, clubs and festivals. He later recorded Solidarity with his father and toured the album as a duo with Bill Plaskett.
