Artists
John Scofield is an American jazz guitarist and composer, born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1951. His music encompasses post-bop, jazz-funk and groove-based fusion. His catalogue includes A Go Go, recorded with Medeski Martin & Wood, and Überjam, while his work with Miles Davis forms another central part of his discography. In 1982, he joined Miles Davis’s band and spent the next several years touring and recording with him. The 2003 album EnRoute documented a trio performance at the Blue Note in New York with Steve Swallow and Bill Stewart. He later toured with Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, whose performances were collected on In Case the World Changes Its Mind. He has performed in Switzerland at Montreux Jazz Festival and in the Netherlands at North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.
Oteil Burbridge is an American bassist, singer and songwriter born in Washington, D.C., in 1964. He is known for his work with Aquarium Rescue Unit, the Allman Brothers Band and Dead & Company, and his music draws on jazz fusion, Southern rock and open-ended improvisation. His solo albums include Love of a Lifetime and Water in the Desert. Oteil Burbridge joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1997 and played its final concert at New York’s Beacon Theatre in 2014. He began touring with Dead & Company in 2015, later completing the group’s Final Tour at Oracle Park in San Francisco in 2023. In 2024 he returned with the group for the Dead Forever residency at Sphere in Las Vegas.
