John Tams is an English folk singer, songwriter, musician and actor, born in Holbrook, Derbyshire, in 1949. A member of the Albion Band and a founder of Home Service, he wrote songs including “Rolling Home” and “The Spanish Bride” and recorded the solo albums Unity and The Reckoning. He also played Rifleman Daniel Hagman and performed traditional songs in the television series Sharpe. At the National Theatre, John Tams worked as a musician and actor on Bill Bryden’s productions of Lark Rise to Candleford and The Mysteries.
