Artists
Heidi Talbot is an Irish folk singer and songwriter from County Kildare, known for her work with the Celtic ensemble Cherish the Ladies and her subsequent solo career. Her recordings pair traditional material with contemporary songwriting and include The Last Star, Angels Without Wings, Here We Go 1, 2, 3 and Sing It for a Lifetime. Heidi Talbot toured internationally as a member of Cherish the Ladies before returning to solo work. Her own tours have featured multi-instrumentalist John McCusker and guitarist Boo Hewerdine, both collaborators on her recordings, in acoustic arrangements built around her vocals. Her festival appearances have included Cambridge Folk Festival and Celtic Connections in Glasgow.
Boo Hewerdine is an English singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer, born in 1961. He first became known as the singer and principal songwriter of The Bible, whose songs include “Graceland” and “Honey Be Good.” His solo catalogue includes the albums Ignorance and Baptist Hospital, and he wrote “The Patience of Angels” for Eddi Reader. The Bible toured British clubs and theatres during the 1980s and later reunited for further concerts. Boo Hewerdine subsequently established a long-running solo show centred on his voice, acoustic guitar and songs, while his work with Eddi Reader also extended to concert appearances. He has additionally toured in State of the Union, his duo with American guitarist Brooks Williams.
