Jon Anderson in London

Jon Anderson is an English singer-songwriter, born in Accrington in 1944, who co-founded the progressive-rock band Yes in 1968. His high tenor is central to recordings including “Roundabout,” “Close to the Edge” and “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” His work outside the band includes the solo album Olias of Sunhillow and his recordings with Vangelis as Jon and Vangelis. The 1972 Close to the Edge tour was filmed at London’s Rainbow Theatre, and performances from that tour and the preceding Fragile tour formed the live album Yessongs. After rejoining Yes for 90125, he fronted the band’s 1984 arena tour, which included Madison Square Garden, and later took part in the eight-member Union Tour. Beginning in 2016, he toured theatres and arenas with Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman as Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman on An Evening of Yes Music and More.
