Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. Rob Halford’s high-register vocals and the twin-lead-guitar work of Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing shaped the group’s sound. They are known for the albums British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith, as well as “Breaking the Law,” “Living After Midnight” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.” The band entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Judas Priest played the Reading Festival and toured the United States in 1977; that American run included a Day on the Green performance supporting Led Zeppelin. The band later celebrated five decades of live work on the 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour.
