Jun Togawa in Tokyo

Jun Togawa is a Japanese singer, actress and musician born in Tokyo in 1961. She sang in the retro-styled trio Guernica, later led Yapoos, and built a solo catalogue of new wave, punk-edged art pop and experimental pop. Her best-known releases include the albums Tamahime-sama and Suki Suki Daisuki, whose title track became a signature song. Jun Togawa performed with Guernica in the early 1980s and subsequently presented her solo material with Yapoos, which developed into a recording band in its own right. After recording the collaborative album Watashi ga Nakou Hototogisu with Vampillia, she appeared with the group at the 2017 Roadburn Festival in Tilburg.
