k.d. lang in Ottawa

k.d. lang is a Canadian singer-songwriter, born in Edmonton in 1961 and raised in Consort, Alberta. She began in country music with the Reclines before moving into pop, folk and adult contemporary songwriting. Her best-known work includes the album Ingénue, the song “Constant Craving” and her recording of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” At the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, she performed “Hallelujah” accompanied by piano. In 2017, she began the Ingénue Redux tour, presenting Ingénue in full at theatres across Canada, the United States, Britain and Australia.
