About Kae Tempest
Kae Tempest is a British poet, rapper, playwright and recording artist, born in London in 1985. Their music joins spoken-word storytelling to hip-hop and electronic production. Tempest is known for the albums Everybody Down and Let Them Eat Chaos, both shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, as well as the performance poem Brand New Ancients and the album The Line Is a Curve.
Tempest performed Brand New Ancients at Battersea Arts Centre in 2012 before taking the narrative work on tour. Following Everybody Down, they toured concert material combining rap, poetry and electronic accompaniment, including a 2017 performance of Let Them Eat Chaos at Glastonbury Festival.
