About Kælan Mikla
Kælan Mikla is an Icelandic darkwave and post-punk trio formed in Reykjavík in 2013. The group began as a poetry performance and became known for bass-led, synthesizer-heavy songs with Icelandic lyrics, documented on the albums Kælan Mikla, Nótt eftir nótt and Undir köldum norðurljósum.
In 2018, Robert Smith invited Kælan Mikla to perform at Meltdown at London’s Southbank Centre. The group also performed at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and at Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
