About Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is an American composer and electronic musician raised on Orcas Island in Washington State. She is known for experimental pop and ambient works shaped by Buchla synthesizers, voice and layered electronic textures, particularly the albums EARS, The Kid and The Mosaic of Transformation.
In 2016, she opened shows for Animal Collective during their tour following the release of EARS. She later performed material from The Kid at NPR Music’s Tiny Desk, where her voice and synthesizers formed the core of the set.
