Karen Souza in Mexico City

Karen Souza is an Argentine singer known for recasting pop and rock songs as vocal jazz, lounge and bossa nova. She first drew attention through the Jazz & ’80s and Bossa N’ Stones projects, then established her solo catalogue with Essentials and Hotel Souza. Her best-known interpretations include Radiohead’s “Creep,” Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” and The Police’s “Every Breath You Take.” Karen Souza has performed repeatedly in Mexico as part of a wider Latin American touring history. Her concerts have included the theatre-scale Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires; in Mexico City, she has played the more intimate Lunario del Auditorio Nacional.
