About Kasim Sulton
Kasim Sulton is an American bassist, singer and songwriter, born in 1955 and best known as a member of Todd Rundgren’s Utopia. He sang lead on the Utopia single “Set Me Free” and played bass on Meat Loaf’s album Bat Out of Hell, establishing a career across rock, pop and power pop.
Kasim Sulton toured extensively with Utopia during the late 1970s and 1980s, then played bass and sang backing vocals on David Bowie’s 1987 Glass Spider Tour, including its Wembley Stadium concerts. He returned for Utopia’s 2018 reunion tour, which brought the band into theatres including the Chicago Theatre.
