Katatonia in Northcote

Katatonia is a Swedish metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. Its early recordings were rooted in death-doom, while later albums moved toward atmospheric alternative and progressive metal. The band is known for records including Brave Murder Day, Last Fair Deal Gone Down and The Great Cold Distance, which includes the song “My Twin.” The 2011 Last Fair Day Gone Night tour celebrated the band’s twentieth anniversary and included performances of Last Fair Deal Gone Down in full. Katatonia recorded the London concert at KOKO for a subsequent live release, then returned to European clubs and theatres on the 2016 Fallen Hearts of Europe tour with Agent Fresco and VOLA.
